Safe Score Calculator
Exam & CareerAdd a buffer above the expected cutoff to find a comfortable target score.
How the safe score is calculated
Add a buffer above the expected cutoff to arrive at a target that covers natural cutoff variance. Use an absolute buffer, a percentage of the cutoff, or both.
Example — SSC CGL (Expected Cutoff 110 / 200)
Frequently Asked Questions
A safe score is a target score that gives you a reasonable buffer above the expected cutoff — so even if the actual cutoff comes in slightly higher than expected, you still clear it. Expected cutoffs are estimates based on last year's data and may shift by 5–15 marks depending on paper difficulty and candidate count.
