Converting between rank and percentile

Rank → PercentilePercentile = ((Total − Rank) / Total) × 100
Percentile → RankRank = ⌈ (1 − Percentile/100) × Total ⌉

Frequently Asked Questions

A percentile tells you what percentage of candidates scored below you. A 99th percentile means 99% of candidates scored less — you outperformed 99 out of every 100 test-takers. It says nothing about your raw marks, only your position relative to the field.
