Split Bill Calculator
Tools & UtilitiesAdd each person's share and split the tip fairly based on what everyone ordered.
Tip is split proportionally — someone who spent more pays a larger share of the tip.
How the split is calculated
Each person pays their own subtotal plus a tip share proportional to what they ordered — not a flat equal fraction of the tip.
Example — 3 People, 15% Tip
Why proportional matters
Splitting ₹180 equally gives each person ₹60 in tip — but Alice ordered only ₹400 while Bob ordered ₹600. Equal tip would undercharge Bob and overcharge Alice. Proportional split means Bob (50% of the bill) pays 50% of the tip: ₹90. Alice (33%) pays ₹60. Charlie (17%) pays ₹30. Everyone pays their fair share.
Frequently Asked Questions
The tip is proportional to each person's subtotal — whoever ordered more pays a higher share of the tip. Splitting the tip equally would overcharge people who ordered less and undercharge those who ordered more. Proportional allocation matches what each person actually contributed to the total bill.
